WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

Bridging the future with enriched education

Safe Study is an after school enrichment program operating in Bez Valley, Johannesburg South Africa. Through a
combination of Arts Enrichment, Academic Support and Mental Wellness, we have created a safe, educational environment for children and young people. Founded on the street pavements, we started from the humble beginnings of a community soup kitchen during the COVID-19 lockdown. Our initiative was a response to the impact of the crisis in education and the inequalities of the education system that left many children with limited or no access to distance or online learning, only serving to increase the digital and wealth divide.

There was a desperate need to create a space so that these children could continue to learn.
Safe Study’s principle is to strengthen the levels of social cohesion for children and young people through capacity building initiatives and our creative programs. Our guided holistic learning outcomes will enable our children to become self-reliant and independent global citizens and give them access to creative resources.
